Poole Gymnasts to Represent Great Britain at the World Games 2025

BCP Leisure is proud to celebrate an incredible achievement by three talented athletes from Poole Gymnastics & Trampolining Club, based at Rossmore Leisure Centre. Bryony Page, Isabelle Songhurst and Kirsty Way will be representing Great Britain at the prestigious World Games, which kicks off on the 7th of August in China. Bryony and Isabelle will perform together in synchronised trampoline, while Kirsty will showcase her skills in double mini trampoline.

As all three gymnasts prepare to compete on the world stage, we had the opportunity to speak with Bryony Page, who kindly shared her journey, insights, and excitement ahead of the Games.

Congratulations on being selected to represent Great Britain at the World Games! How did you feel when you found out you were chosen?

The best moment was knowing we had qualified a place for Great Britain by qualifying into the World Championships final back in November 2023. This performance was in front of a home crowd in Birmingham, so it made it extra special. This year, it was just a case of showing we were still capable to deliver a similar (or better) routine this summer, during a simple trial process.

I am very excited for the competition; it’s like an Olympics for non-Olympic sports and disciplines. I want us to have the best prep and the best time out there flying through the sky!

Can you tell us a bit about your journey in trampoline gymnastics?

I got involved in lots of sports when I was younger and thankfully, I found gymnastics which led me to trampolining, which I loved even more. I love the thrill of jumping higher and learning new skills, as well as trying to perfect everything else in the process of improving.

The fun, challenge and feeling of trampolining are what keep me going, I love it, and I want to see how good I can get! There’s also a fantastic community in this sport and I love to see everyone at training, competitions and across the world.

What does your training routine look like in preparation for the World Games?

Izzy and I will shift more of our focus to the synchro routines together. Our priority is generally individual trampoline since that is the Olympic discipline and what our funding lends itself to focus on. Synchro is a great tool to help us work well as a team, improve ourselves, and enjoy another aspect of our sport. Plus, we want to show the world what Great Britain can do.

Shifting our focus in the build up to such a big, important and exciting competition that only focuses on synchro will be something new for us, I'm really looking forward to it. In the build up to the World Games, we’ll go from practising sections of the routines, both together and individually, to performing full routines on our own, and eventually, full routines as a pair.

How do you and Isabelle work together to perfect your synchronized trampoline routines?

Synchro works best when we are both comfortable with the routine and in a good place individually, it makes it easier to adjust and match the routine together. Izzy has trained synchro as a junior with lots of different people and it's a skill she is incredibly good at!

I'm lucky that if I'm in trouble during the routine she can take over the synchro element for me to regain composure. And if she is in trouble her super strength is building back height. So, she does most of the synchro work and I do my best to stay with her and be consistent. It works well because we trust each other’s skills and know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and we both work hard to improve in all areas!

What advice would you give to young aspiring gymnasts who dream of competing at an international level?

Enjoy what you do, learn as much as you can and take in each great moment! Value and celebrate your hard work and who you are every day, not just your big achievements.

What are your goals and aspirations for the future, both in gymnastics and life?

I have a few skills that I have learnt and trained but never yet competed, so I would like to perform those in front of a crowd and judges before I retire from trampolining.

Competing at a World Games has been a dream of mine for a long time, so I am super excited to be competing there with Izzy. I have a few more competition and score-based goals within trampolining too, of course!

In life, I would love to be a Cirque du Soleil performer and once my body has had enough, I just hope I find a job I love as much as the one I have now!

Let's Cheer Them On!

Bryony’s passion and dedication are truly inspiring, and her reflections offer a glimpse into the commitment and teamwork behind elite-level gymnastics. As Bryony, Isabelle, and Kirsty prepare to represent Great Britain, we’ll be cheering them on from Rossmore and across the BCP Leisure community.
