Junior swim academy
Our swimming lessons are based on the National Plan for Teaching Swimming, a framework produced by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). Lessons run on a continuous basis with a 2 week break for Christmas and Easter.
All academy members will be required to wear a swim hat during their lessons. This can be purchased from reception for £2.50 each or you can bring your own.
Pre-School lessons are for children aged 3 years and over, who are not yet in full time education. Stages 1 and above are for children who are in full time education.
Payment
Our Junior Swimming Membership costs £34.10 per month and must be paid for by direct debit.
How to join our swim academy
Our Go Learn portal allows you to browse for suitable classes for your child and book them in while setting up their Direct Debit membership.
If you are unable to find a suitable class continue to check back as availability changes on a daily basis.
We have swimming group categories for you to find out which classes are suitable for you.
Head over to Go Learn to book.
Spectators
Spectators must remain in the roped spectator area that is accessed via the poolside corridor doors.
A spectator is anyone who is not dressed in swimming clothes and/or not booked to participate in an activity.
Arriving for a lesson
Your child can arrive ‘swim ready’ (swimming clothes already on and covered by outdoor clothes or a towel/robe) and enter with you on to poolside via the poolside doors where they can remove their shoes etc in preparation for their teacher being ready. It is not permitted to change into swim clothes on poolside.
Alternatively you may wait with your child at the changing room until their teacher is ready, then walk back through the changing rooms, along the lower corridor and enter the spectator viewing area via the poolside doors.
At the end of the lesson
Your child can meet you in the spectator area at the end of their lesson where they can put on their towel/robe and outdoor shoes and either depart the centre or head along the lower corridor to the changing rooms to use the facilities there. It is not permitted to change out of swim clothes on poolside. Please do towel dry off before entering the corridor and footwear must be worn.
Alternatively, leave poolside a minute or so before the end of your child's lesson so that you can return to the changing via the lower corridor and be ready to receive your child at the changing rooms.
